The Social Media Magazine (tssm)

About two weeks ago, I downloaded an app (tssm) for my iPad.  A magazine about Social Media, that’s scheduled to launch in September 2011.   It seems like it will be an interesting read, I can't wait for the first issue.

This evening, I read an article on poynter.org that gave a brief description about the magazine.

You can also take a look at The Social Media Magazine's website, this will give you a feel for how the magazine will be structure. More on tsmm ...

Was my FaceBook Account Hacked on Last night? Part-2

After taking the necessary precautions, I was able to visit CIO.com; my fb account profile did not appear on the page this time.  Actually, I got an error when the page started to load.

So please, do not stay logged into to your email, banks, and social media sites.  I know it can be a pain and you may forget your passwords, but enter them each time you log in. This little step will make it harder for people to access your information.

A word from the mouse clicking wounded.

Was my FaceBook Account Hacked on Last night?

Last evening while searching for thought provoking articles to share with you, my worst fear (being hack) began to unfold as I search the article entitled, "How to Handle Social Networking Security Risks".

While reading the article, my facebook profile was displayed on the screen. I took a double take, got off the site, and started looking for antivirus software.  The next 4 hours was spent downloading software and running virus scans on my (Mac) computer.

I refused to use wifi, and later pulled the Ethernet cable from the computer as well.

This evening it hit me and I had to chuckle, it was so my fault for checking the little box that asks if you would like to stay logged into to facebook. No wonder the website had access to my profile.  I will now, make the necessary security measures (uncheck the box) and try the website again.

Stay Tune for the Update!
